Delivery restrictions

We aim to deliver your order as quickly as possible, but Northern Ireland and some postcodes in Scotland and Wales have specific delivery restrictions due to their location.

This means that:

  • Deliveries to these areas may be scheduled on specific days
  • An additional delivery charge may apply - This charge covers only the costs imposed by our courier partners, with no profit for Mattress Online.
  • Our Customer Service team will contact you via email or the phone number provided during checkout to confirm your delivery date and keep you informed once your order is dispatched.

We appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience the restrictions may cause. 

The delivery fee for your postcode will be clearly displayed during checkout when you make your purchase.

Delivery to Scotland

The following Scottish postcodes have a 3 working-day delivery time and a £40 delivery fee:

When buying from Mattress Online, we believe you should have as much control over your delivery as possible. That’s why we offer a range of delivery options to suit your needs.

You can select a delivery date up to 60 days in advance of your order date.

Old Mattress Collection and RecyclingWe’ll collect and recycle your old mattress when we deliver your new one!

This service is non-profit and covers the complete cost of the recycling facility service.
Your old mattress must be the same size or smaller than the one we are delivering, as space in our delivery vans is limited.

If you’ve opted for standard Free Next Day or Weekend Delivery, please bring your old mattress to the main or designated delivery entrance, as this is where we’ll deliver your new one.

If you’ve selected Premium Delivery, we’ll collect your old mattress from your flat or apartment.

Please note: Our insurance covers deliveries and collections up to the third floor of a building. If a service lift is available, we can usually access higher floors. Please reach out to us if you would like more information.

Do you have a delivery cut-off time?

For orders to England and most of Scotland and Wales, you can enjoy free working day delivery if you order before our cut-off times:

  • Monday-Thursday - order before 4pm
  • Saturday - order before 2pm
  • Sunday - order before 3pm

The cut-off time for next-day delivery is clearly displayed on every product page above the 'Add to basket' button: ‘Order within 1hrs, 50mins.

If you live in or around South Yorkshire, our professional local delivery team will handle your order. Based in Rotherham, our experienced team is dedicated to ensuring a smooth, stress-free delivery and is always ready to greet you with a smile. Keep an eye out for our vans in your area!

We know it’s important to you that your delivery runs as smoothly as possible. That’s why we invest in our delivery fleet with:

For deliveries further afield, we've partnered with three trusted courier companies to ensure your order arrives quickly and safely.

  • AIT Home Delivery (formerly Panther Logistics) - Mattress Online has proudly partnered with AIT Home Delivery for nearly a decade. With their extensive expertise in haulage and over 20 years of industry experience, AIT Home Delivery shares the Mattress Online commitment to exceptional delivery and unmatched customer service.
  • DPD - We've partnered with DPD and their extensive network to deliver smaller items like pillows, duvets, and bedding to our customers. With DPD's reliable service, you can rest assured that your purchase is in the hands of a premium courier.
  • APC Overnight - We have partnered with APC for smaller deliveries which require overnight shipping for a speedy delivery. APC has the UK’s largest independent courier network with an excellent overnight delivery service and customer satisfaction.
  • FedEx - Mattress Online has partnered with FedEx, one of the world’s leading transportation and delivery networks. With an extensive UK road network and a commitment to connecting people and possibilities, FedEx ensures reliable and efficient delivery, helping us provide a flexible service to our customers.

Before your delivery

We aim to provide you with a wide range of delivery options. That's why we’ve answered the questions below with detailed information about our delivery dates.

When will you deliver my item?

We'll deliver your item on the date you selected during checkout. For residents of Northern Ireland or those in delivery-restricted postcodes in Scotland and Wales (listed above), our helpful Customer Service team will contact you to confirm your delivery date.

  • On the evening before your delivery, the phone number you provided will receive a text message with your 2 hour delivery time slot.
  • On the morning of your delivery, you will receive a phone call from our delivery team with the estimated time of your delivery.

Can I change my delivery date?

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes you need to make changes to your order or delivery date - and that's perfectly okay with us.

If you would like to make an alteration to your order and your delivery and:

Can I have the items delivered to someone else?

Yes, you can deliver to someone else at a different address.

Simply enter the delivery postcode into our postcode lookup tool, which will enable you to select the correct address.

You can also include the recipient's phone number in the contact list for delivery updates.

Please ensure that someone is available at the delivery address to accept the order on the delivery date.

Do you deliver on Bank Holidays?

Yes, we deliver on all bank holidays except for:

  • Christmas Day (25th December)
  • Boxing Day (26th December)
  • New Year's Day (1st January)

There may be an additional charge if you would like your purchase to be delivered on a Bank Holiday.

When will out of stock items be delivered?

If your order is out of stock, we will order it from the manufacturer immediately. 

Our Customer Service team will contact you to arrange delivery. The lead times displayed on the product page are an indication of how long this process may take, but the item may be available sooner. If the lead time does change, we will notify you by email or phone to discuss updating your delivery date.


On your delivery day

On your delivery day, you can enjoy a hassle-free experience. We’ll contact you with your estimated delivery time and then you can sit back and relax.

How will I know my order is out for delivery?

When your order is ready to be delivered you will receive:

  • An email to notify you that your order has been dispatched
  • A text on the evening before your delivery notifying you of your 2 hour delivery time slot
  • A call on the morning of your delivery with an estimated time of arrival

Can I track my delivery?

You can track your order if it’s being delivered by AIT Home Delivery (formerly Panther), DPD or APC Overnight.

You will receive your tracking information in an email from your courier on the day of your delivery.

Currently, we do not provide delivery tracking for our local deliveries. However, we are actively working to introduce this capability in the near future to enhance your shopping experience with us.

What happens if I live in a flat or apartment?

If your home is in a flat or apartment, here's what you can expect on delivery day. Depending on the delivery option you choose, your experience will vary:

If you’ve selected Premium Delivery, we’ll collect your old mattress directly from your flat or apartment.

What happens if I miss the delivery?

We understand that sometimes unexpected events may cause you to miss your delivery. Don’t worry, we’ll be in touch with you to rearrange a more convenient delivery date that works for you.

Please note: If you miss your delivery on the second attempt, a third delivery attempt will incur a fee of £39.

What happens if you can’t find my address?

If our delivery teams are struggling to find your address or access to your building, they will contact you via text or call the number provided for delivery updates.

In the event that our couriers are unable to find your address, our Customer Service team will contact you to reschedule your delivery.

Can you take my order to my bedroom?

You can have your order delivered directly to your room of choice with our Premium Delivery service, available for an additional £20 or included free with select items.

  • Premium Delivery is currently only offered for mattress or bed orders.
  • Our insurance covers delivery up to the third floor of your building. If you have access to a service lift, we can usually accommodate delivery to other floors. For more details, feel free to contact our Customer Service team.

Can you unpack my order?

Unfortunately, we cannot unpack your order for you. If you have selected Premium Delivery, the most we can do is take your purchase to the room of your choice.

Do you offer an assembly service?

Unfortunately, we do not offer an assembly service at the moment.

This is something that we are actively exploring so that we can enhance the service we provide.

Can you take my old mattress, bed or bedding away?

At present, our recycling service only covers mattresses for an additional £35. This fee is non-profit and covers the entire transportation and recycling process at a dedicated, sustainable facility.

We can also only recycle your old mattress if it is the same size or smaller than your new mattress due to the limited capacity of our delivery vans.

We are looking into how we can expand our recycling services to include beds and bedding in the future, as part of our commitment to sustainability in the mattress and bed industry.
